SCIENCE & HUMANITIES

This department is the backbone of the entire engineering education process and it efficiently supports the engineering departments by providing high quality training in basic Science and English. This department has Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English under its canopy.

English department works to enhance the communication skills of the students at different levels. A state of the art communication skills laboratory is available along with trained faculty members. Physics department has a spacious laboratory where experiments such as particle size determination using laser beams, spectrometric, thermal and properties of matter studies are conducted. Chemistry department has a laboratory equipped with all analytical instruments required for the conduct of laboratory experiments.

Similarly, workshops are well equipped to conduct Electrical and Electronics Engineering experiments in addition to regular Carpentry, Welding, Fitting, Foundry, etc. The department has excellent and well equipped computer laboratory with the latest versions of software and hardware exclusively for the use of first year students.

Engineering Physics Laboratory

The Engineering Physics Laboratory is aptly designed with spacious and well-ventilated infrastructure. It is well-equipped and enables the students to understand the fundamentals of Engineering Physics. This laboratory makes the students to gain practical knowledge to co-relate with the theoretical studies. It also helps the students to achieve perfectness in experimental skills and the study of practical applications which will bring them more confidence and they will have the ability to develop and fabricate engineering and technical equipments.

Engineering Chemistry Laboratory

This is the basic science laboratory which is common for all branches of first year students with all the facilities to carry out the experiments independently. The laboratory is designed well to handle chemical substances. It provides students with a practical approach towards various techniques used in engineering applications. The experiments in the laboratory develop the skill among the learners so that they can measure, differentiate and analyse various chemical processes.

English Language Laboratory

The English Language Laboratory focuses on the language and familiarizes the students with the use of English in everyday situations both in formal and informal contexts. This laboratory is facilitated with computer-assisted multi-media instruction which enables the students to learn independently by sensitizing to the nuances of English speech sounds, word accent, intonation and rhythm. Software in the laboratory helps and trains the students to learn LSRW skills i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. These four skills play an important part in the acquisition of language and learning.

Vision

The vision of the department is to provide the gateway for the first year students to understand the core levels of engineering. The department chisels the aspiring engineers to a skilled professional with social, ethical and moral values.

Mission

To provide a unique learning environment through innovative teaching learning process. To sharpen and modulate the first year students to self-learning and self-discipline by teaching life skills, soft skills, career skills along with the basic of technical knowledge.
