INFRASTRUCTURE

Shanmuganathan Engineering College is located at Arasampatti near thirumayam on the national Highway 226, at a distance of 17 km from pudukkottai and 25 km from karaikudi. The campus is spread across a vast area of 25 acres of lush green environment. The college has a well designed building and comprehensive infrastructure provided for both students and faculty with a Central computing facility, Central Library, and common facilities like workshop, playground, and canteen in campus. Excellent state of the art infrastructure of SEC is strength with exceptionally wide experienced faculty supported by on campus hostel facility, library, Industry Associated laboratories, seminar hall, and all allied facilities. Moreover, the college is blessed with well- planned infrastructure features that support all kinds of events and acts as a facilitator for the effective delivery of our curriculum.

The Institute is divided into zones – The Academic Zone, residential zone, administrative zone. The layout has been excellently planned to make the maximum utilisation of the entire   campus area with separate blocks –  Administrative Block, Examination Cell, Institute & Industry Collaborative Block, Central Library, Central Auditorium, EEE Block, Mechanical and every block is equipped with the necessary amenities.

 CENTRAL LIBRARY

SEC has housed in a spacious area of 50, 000 sq ft, fully computerized with Reference Section, Magazine Section and Stack Area with more than 60,000 text books, reference books, dictionaries, encyclopedias, code books, and data sources books and reference volumes stacked for the benefit of staff and students. A comprehensive, bar coded, computerized library and reading hall equipped with internet connection, audio video CD and DVD, national and international journals, Technical Magazines. The digital Library D-space provides online resources for interested students in Computer Assistant Learning.

COMPUTER FACILITY

The college has about 150 Hi-end Computer all networked with LAN and internet services through wireless connectivity, and LCD projection systems, hardware and software, printers, plotters, scanners, photocopying machine, digital cameras and video cameras.

INTERNET FACILITY

The entire campus is connected by Internet with 100 Mbps bandwidth. The admin building has wireless computing network.

AUDITORIUM / SEMINAR HALL

A energetic learning experience is not about attending class room sessions but instead involving in Guest lectures, webinars, seminars, conferences and symposium. This helps the students to get new ideas and insights where knowledge sharing kick starts.

The college has one centralized air-conditioned seminar halls with all modern facilities in the campus. The webinars and seminars are conducted in the seminar hall which has a capacity of 200 with ultra modern LCD projector, computer, and audio and video facilities. 

And also each departmental block has a Seminar Hall exclusively for conducting department events.

HOSTEL

Separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls are provided in a homely atmosphere with well furnished, spacious Rooms are available for both BOYS and GIRLS separately.

• Capacity of the boys hostel is 150  and girls hostel is 100
• Medical & Postal Communication Facilities are also made available for both Hostellers.
• Gymnasium, Yoga Center are also available inside the hostels for both BOYS and GIRLS separately
• Caring warden, Resident Tutors and Security ensure pleasant stay for the students to focus on their studies.

CANTEEN & CAFETRIA

SEC has the facility of spacious, clean and hygienic canteens and cafeterias that caters to the taste of all students and staff. The College has one canteens and one cafeteria ( includes Coffee-Day & Juice Shop) inside the campus in which variety of dishes are available at most nominal rates. In canteens, South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, hygienically prepared by trained chefs is served every day to suit all. The Menu is designed taking into consideration the nutritional and calorific requirements of the student. The Campus Cafe is open from 9.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. on all days. The Canteen offers snacks during lunch / break time. In addition to hygienic food, the canteen provides stationary items and notebooks.

TRANSPORTATION

A full-fledged Transport department functions in the college with 12+ buses, to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places and this service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation.  Students who wish to avail themselves of the facility of the college bus regularly will have to collect identity card after remitting the prescribed charges.

TEMPLE

SEC has a Vinayakar Temple inside the campus known for its serene atmosphere and picturesque surroundings. Elaborate ceremonies are performed during the Navarathri festival. The temple has the shrine of Lord Vinayaka and a Shiva Lingam.

GENERATOR

A standby power generator is provided in the campus to take care of the occasional power shut down due to maintenance. Total 385kva capacity generator is operated inside the campus.

ATM

The institute has 24 x 7 ATM facility of Indian Bank for the benefit of students and staff.
